As July comes to a close, I’m already looking forward to August—and one of the things I’m most excited about has nothing to do with real estate.
It’s seeing Bling-N-Fashions reopen its doors in downtown Le Mars.
While reading the story, one quote from owner Dana Wendt really stayed with me:
“I’m grateful for the community of Le Mars. I love Le Mars, which is the only reason I’m opening back up.”
To me, those words perfectly capture what makes our community so special.
We often talk about supporting local businesses, but this story is a reminder that support goes far beyond shopping. Sometimes it’s encouragement. Sometimes it’s lending a hand. Sometimes it’s simply reminding someone they aren’t facing life’s challenges alone.
Dana shared that without the help of her husband and the Le Mars community, reopening wouldn’t have been possible. That’s the kind of story that reminds us why small towns are so special.
As a REALTOR®, people often ask me what it’s like to live in Le Mars. I can talk about great neighborhoods, beautiful parks, excellent schools, and our charming downtown, but stories like this say even more. They show the heart of our community.
The reopening of Bling-N-Fashions isn’t just another business opening its doors. It’s a celebration of resilience, friendship, and a community that shows up when it’s needed most.
Congratulations to Dana, her family, and everyone who helped make this possible. I hope you’ll take a moment to stop by after they reopen and show your support.

It’s another great reminder of why I’m proud to call Le Mars home. ❤️
